I first met Vy this last summer during my first cook club’s meeting and we hit it off instantly. We both have lot’s in common and I love that she believes in a healthy lifestyle and is a good cook, not gonna lie. I hear she makes a mean garlic shrimp with noodles that I am dying to try.  ;)

Vy is funny, smart and loving. I love that she has opinions and is not afraid to speak up. Her husband Tyler is the nicest guy ever with a sense of humor, truly committed to his family and an amazing artist. I enjoyed visiting their home and checking out the huge canvases displayed in their home. Julia is the sweetest treat! So sweet and tender it kills you. Very smart for her age and loves the color green, so I learned. She is all about play and exploring, you know the life of a 2 year old. They live 3-4 blocks away from the beach, lucky! They are calm and happy here, Julia is so comfortable with it that the first thing she did was touch the sand and throw it into the water. The light and weather were gorgeous that day and I am so happy with the results.

More and more I am enjoying the time with my subjects, my clients and being in the moment with them. Capturing more emotion and less fuss with the technicalities of the camera. Shooting the exact composition I want and minimal or no processing with most of my photos. I love my job.

Looking forward to getting to know more of my new friends. They are a beautiful family, yes indeed. I’m so lucky to be meeting new people that Kris and I can connect with, if only we had more time on our hands, right.

I say this every time I shoot at the beach, but I really need to do this again real soon. Maybe at Sunset Beach or Huntington Beach, love these beach towns. Thankfully the SoCal beaches are nice and sunny even in November and December at least most of the time. It’s a beautiful day today go out and enjoy!

This photo session was taken three weeks after her birth as Alicia was in the intensive care unit for the first week, but she is doing just fine now. We let her sleep and I allowed them to just be themselves and it wasn’t long before she needed to be fed, but I still stood patient and let Alicia direct the show. During our photo session we placed her on her tummy and she completely lifted herself up, she puts up a fight this little one. So I think of her as very strong, you can see it in her eyes, she is very fierce and with this she will do just fine in life.

Trude, Katie, Nikki and Dante, thank you so much for the experience and allowing me to capture you. This tops one of my favorite sessions of the year, by far. Seriously, you gave me such a wonderful gift just by witnessing the special bond you have and getting to play with you on a Sunday afternoon. I laughed and got the warm fuzzies editing your photos all the way, just look at you! I’m so grateful for our friendship and can’t imagine life without my dosage of this trio, love you! Before I cry, can I just say that I highly recommend a BFF photo session for everyone, so much fun. Can’t wait to do one of my own next year.

It’s a beautiful thing to photograph the ones you love and share your life with, there’s a deep connection that allows for a great creative flow. We had fun from start to finish and I am pleased to have captured her true beauty and simple grace. She’s an amazing mother, friend, someone you can always count on for a great laugh and her smile is really contagious.

We ended our shoot with a yummy lunch at Rutabegorz … it was the perfect Saturday afternoon, weather and all! Thank you Socorro for this amazing experience, I have the best clients in the world and it’s only the beginning.
