It seems like so along ago since I once graduated from high school and looking back, I never liked my senior pictures. They were all the same photo, same smile, head shot… very Sears-like. Kids these days have so many options, it’s wonderful and lucky them!

Katie is Betty Lang’s sister, the wedding coordinator I work with from time to time. When she mentioned that she had not done any senior portraits we knew we had a great opportunity to shoot some for her and have lot’s of fun with it, immediately I knew I wanted to shoot at The Lab in Costa Mesa and the OC Fair nearby since they live in the area.

I absolutely love the way the photos turned out. Although Katie was a little nervous at first we quickly pimped her attitude and made her laugh a ton by being dorks and telling her lame jokes that shall not be repeated ever again. We had lot’s of bystanders and people even came up to ask if she was a model. We were like “yeah, she totally is and she’s big in Australia” or something funny like that. Way to go for Katie and your supermodel fabulousness!

So funny, he joined in the fun to make her laugh… these always make great photos.

She really is as much fun as she looks, so glad I was able to check off something else on the wish list of places to shoot. Congrats Katie, enjoy your college years and pursue your dreams-go get ‘em!

Backyard Wedding – Katie & Rick

Simply said, Katie and Rick have good taste and had the most darling backyard wedding. The weather was great, they looked fabulous and everything went as planned. Katie was fun, her smile and style were just the icing on the cake, but Rick complimented it with his sweet demeanor and gentleness. Their connection is undeniable and their daughter Anneliese is too cute for words.

Sneak Peek – Katie & Rick’s Wedding

As previously mentioned here, I was fortunate enough to photograph a beautiful backyard wedding a few weekends ago and Katie & Rick were amazing to work with. What a gorgeous couple!

Aren’t they lovely? And yes, this is just a teaser… they are so photogenic that there are just too many photos to share. Will be back with another sneak peak from a Mamalita session and with the rest of the wedding photos, but of course.

My Favorite Trio

This last Sunday Trude, the Glowins, Dante and I got to play and run around at the Cal Poly Farm Store for their photo session. We almost didn’t make it because of the weather, but I’m so glad we went with our gut feeling that the sun would come out a bit. It’s a great location because of it’s open landscape and the vegetation is just a plus. Towards the end I had them running around like crazy. I was afraid that I would lose the light so I think I did more posed photos than I normally would in any other session, but I have a feeling we’ll be doing another session in the spring, just a hunch.

Trude, Katie, Nikki and Dante, thank you so much for the experience and allowing me to capture you. This tops one of my favorite sessions of the year, by far. Seriously, you gave me such a wonderful gift just by witnessing the special bond you have and getting to play with you on a Sunday afternoon. I laughed and got the warm fuzzies editing your photos all the way, just look at you! I’m so grateful for our friendship and can’t imagine life without my dosage of this trio, love you! Before I cry, can I just say that I highly recommend a BFF photo session for everyone, so much fun. Can’t wait to do one of my own next year.

You girls must tell me which of the group photos is your favorite, just do it, the team leader has spoken!
