This sweet girl has the most beautiful brown eyes I have ever captured, seriously Mackenzie? I was really touched by the relationship she has with her older sister, Kim. She knows what she wants and wants to have fun along the way. Her style and pretty braid in her hair makes me want to play dress up. I had so much fun with her because not only did she crack me up with saying her ears hurt from smiling, but she just knew how to rock the camera and have fun with it – SCORE!

Kimberly and Mackenzie are beautiful all through out, bright and fun gals. I had such a blast shooting them… it was like a slumber party without the pillow fight! We first met up at Eden Cafe for some boba iced tea since it was a hot day and I had not seen Kim in years and wanted to get reacquainted. I used to work with her, as well as her mom at a real estate office long ago. When I first started working there I was only 23, the same age as Kim is today. Craziness.

Our location was downtown Fullerton and part of the Fullerton Loop Trail. While there was no intended theme at the start of this, by the time we left I realized that these girls defined it so clearly. They allowed me in so they could be seen, for who they are and I am so blessed to have witnessed it and captured it. What originally started off as a senior shoot also became a sister shoot and I am so glad it did. These beauties rocked my camera and I want to showcase their senior photos separately, this post is strictly all about the sisterhood.

Gretchen, you and John have amazing children. And I can’t help to think that you all had a little something to do with it, seriously. Kim and Mackenzie, you keep shining and don’t forget to always smile with your eyes!

My shutter sister, Trude is launching her photography website in the next few days and I had the pleasure of shooting some shots of her. Isn’t she just a doll? Like really, must you look at me that way with your gorgeous green eyes?

She actually asked for this pose so credit is all hers and that is the beauty of working with another creative mind, but more on the details later when I post more from our fun session.

Shannon and I go way back from when we both worked at a real estate company years ago and she was our realtor to our first home that we still live in. Her laughter keeps a smile on her face constantly and she is one of the most spontaneous people I know when it comes to travel. Her boyfriend Mark is the nicest guy you’ll meet and I’m so glad that we bonded over travel and Costa Rica. It’s a great possibility we could be neighbors in the future in Costa Rica. I’m honored to add them to the collection of beautiful people in my portfolio.

For my fellow photographers and photo enthusiasts, the glowing yellow light in the beach photos is all natural. Of course with some contrast and a boost it bumps it a bit, but nothing more. I love beach light and all the different types of lighting you can capture.

Dawn is the sweetest gal, one of the organizers in the group, always concerned about everyone. Shane loves to tell stories and has a huge heart, we can’t thank you both enough for your kindness.

The humidity was tough that early evening and of course harsh sunlight, but I managed to snap a few photos of them and I am so glad.

Dawn and Shane, I hope you love the photos as much as I do… happy 17th anniversary! It was great to have met you and next time we see each other I believe will be in New Orleans.

Just awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! I played with the tilt SOOC and then in processing used a fun sunshine action to bring out the natural sunflare and sun spots.

Trude is an amazing photographer herself, smart & sassy woman that just happens to be one of my best friends. I know, I’m pretty blessed liked that.

Life gets a little crazy sometimes, but I can always count on her to listen to me. She’s one of the best listener’s I know and like in my family she’s the only girl, so we both truly understand the essence of sisterhood via friendships. She is my techy and often my email pal whether it’s personal, photography based or our linky love emails, we always share and help out one another. Don’t even get me started on the fashion and shopping guru that she is, but I mooch off of that too and we try to keep our shopping dates at a minimum otherwise we get into major trouble. I won’t even get into our mutual addiction and love affair with dark chocolate and guacamole, I just won’t. Love you amiga!

Will be back with some more photo goodness, I  have two maternity shoots this week and I’m really excited about it.

For those of you who speak photography out there. These shots that are tilted or seem cropped are actually all SOOC (not one photo is cropped) with just a boost in contrast, brightness and the occasional fun B&W or vintage action. I loved how they turned out, I went a little crazy on the tilting, but overall I’m happy with the results. I feel that with this shoot I really learned a lot on getting more SOOC shots exactly the way I want them in terms of the crop.

Caroline was so fun and I can’t wait to do this again in the Spring. She’s a fantastic photographer so if you’re in the San Francisco area check out her work. She’s also a very talented scrapbooker and all things design. We bonded over the fact that we both use lot’s of garlic in our cooking and hope to get to know her more via her blog and on our next meet up. Caroline, you are such a beautiful person all throughout and I’m grateful to have captured all that is you.

It’s a beautiful thing to photograph the ones you love and share your life with, there’s a deep connection that allows for a great creative flow. We had fun from start to finish and I am pleased to have captured her true beauty and simple grace. She’s an amazing mother, friend, someone you can always count on for a great laugh and her smile is really contagious.

We ended our shoot with a yummy lunch at Rutabegorz … it was the perfect Saturday afternoon, weather and all! Thank you Socorro for this amazing experience, I have the best clients in the world and it’s only the beginning.
