Many of my brides ask about DIY projects, vendors and for inspiration once they book with me. While I have a list of vendors I work with and always recommend a professional, some brides plan months and months ahead and really prefer for personal or budget reasons to have a DIY wedding.  So I thought I’d share this link here, as it seems to be the best one I’ve seen out there for this DIY project.

I didn’t even have to think about it, I knew the moment I thought about this post. You see, like Trude I am not a resolution type of girl. And I love Ali’s approach of allowing one word to guide you through the year. My goals are always changing and they are set as needed or wanted, some are short term and some are long term. Did I mention I love making lists? So yes, I am the typical A personality, goal oriented, always must be in control girl, but on my own terms.

This past year was both good and very hard. Going into 2011 I have many wishes, dreams, lists and looking forward to what I will create and what will come to me whether I want it or not. I am at that stage in my life where I am no longer resisting that ugly 10% I like to call that you just have no control over, the other 90% I’ve got taken care of.  ;) I’m happy to start the new year with my lovely husband, Kris and the tough road ahead of us. Because at the end of the day I know we have each other.

Isn’t this yoga pose just awesome? As a yogi, I will work towards this pose for the year. I’ve only been doing yoga for a few years, but I know that I can do this. Both my mind and body need to train towards this pose. In the bigger picture, I know that working towards this will give me strength in so many other areas in my life. The much needed strength that I will need to overcome anything that comes my way. Finally, I will no longer question my strength because that is just nonsense.

You’d have to be crazy not to love fall, right? Lot’s of great stuff happens in the fall. Nice weather, pretty sweaters, cool socks, scarves, plus all the soups and pies-oh my! Don’t get me started on soup, because that is a whole other blog post all together, let’s just say I have an obsession.

As you can see I am really excited about the fall even if we have crazy weather through it, I’m going to make the best of it. There will be lot’s of soup making, sock & boot wearing, book reading in our house, starting tonight!

What do you love most about fall?

When I am inspired I try to implement part of my inspiration in my daily life, not just in my work. I usually have to write things down in a pretty notebook as it can leave fairly quickly. I find inspiration everywhere, even when I’m not looking. Enjoy!
