More Than Lip Balm

This last weekend Kris planned on rescuing me from my work, from that desk corner in our home office where I have spent many hours the last couple of weeks. I have to say that it worked and he took me to Santa Monica for the day. It was a spare of the moment late afternoon thing on Saturday and it was just what I needed. It was what we both needed after a long week.

We walked around for hours, 4 to be exact… window shopping, had lunch, watched the local artists perform, stopped at this cupcake shop and our last stop was Whole Foods. It was around dinner time so we decided to just grab a bunch of sides and soup to take home with us, their Greek orzo is the bomb diggity, seriously delicious. I had left Kris at the register while I left next door to the cupcake shop, you know, to save time and why wait in line at the register when I could be at the cupcake shop getting dessert? When Kris met me there he handed me this awesome lip balm (or crack stick as my friend Katie calls it because the more you use it, the more you need it) which is peach flavored, organic and has spf 15. He gave it to me with such excitement. You see, one of my favorite fruity smells is peach and it’s so rare to see this flavor in anything these days, especially lip balm.

It’s the little things. I don’t think I say this enough, but I truly love this man and I am so grateful and lucky to have him by my side. I’ve always been shy to show public feelings of affection or praising, partly because I was never around it growing up and have feared that if I flaunt it, it could hinder this love. These days I’m slowly getting over that, I just hope Kris is ready for it.;)
