  • I believe in love.
    I love what I do.
I always use extra, double, over the top garlic when I cook.
I strive everyday to be better... at everything.
I am determined to travel the world.
I could live off watermelon, zucchini, mango, and peaches.
I'm a foodie, wino, yogi and all things beach.
I dream of fields full of gardenias.
I would love to run a B&B off the coast of Oregon.
I enjoy reading memoirs with recipes the most.
I will design and create a beautiful garden and porch in our next home.
I love eating, making and finding new soups and salads.
I'm obsessed with Yogurtland and Ingrid Michaelson.
I make my own enchilada sauce and guacamole, to die for.
I love whole heartedly and am very loyal.
I can never get enough of dark chocolate, cupcakes and spicy tuna rolls.
    I'm a dreamer and a doer!

Giving

This is our theme for the year in the Orozco-Jasie home.

We have been wanting to do more of this, but never really got serious about it until now. We are not big on resolutions at the beginning of the year. We’re certainly goal-oriented and are both very ambitious, but we work better by monthly or even by weekly goals. I myself volunteer my time, but we want to do more of this and together of course. We’ve been doing some research and it’s just a matter of narrowing it down to which charities to donate to and volunteer for. We’ll see how much we can contribute, but for sure giving our time we can do regardless. The top charities we will definitely be supporting are children, education, reading programs and healthy lunch food programs for kids. It’s what we are most passionate about so it only makes sense. During the holidays we hope to adopt a family instead of doing gifts, because we really don’t need more stuff collecting in our home, we’re just at that point (yes, even shopaholic Kris) where you just need to do more to feel empowered and to give back to feel satisfied.

It’s been an okay 2009 for us, it’s definitely been a test for us and we have succeeded and all of our challenges have made us only stronger. I hope that in 2010 we can stay on top and that we are able to both pursue our ongoing goals. I’m a firm believer that I am 70% in control of my destiny and the rest I cannot control and that is okay. We’ll both be doing lot’s of schooling, Kris might even finally “really” learn Spanish by taking a course at the local college and I will be taking yoga again and doing more photography workshops.

Our holiday weekends were fantastic with lot’s of tamale & pozole eating and a side of movie watching. We finally found the perfect dive bar in Santa Monica, very low-key, but sophisticated place that serves beer, wine and yummy, healthy food from the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market, yeah, our kind of place. Oh and did I mention that you can play Connect Four at your table too? Kris kept saying “I love this place” every five minutes. It’s called West 4th Jane, highly recommend and so do other reviewers on Yelp.

Happy New Year!
